So pleasant. Less cheerful than I thought, but so serene, so quietly sure of himself, and just pleasant to have around. We're getting along fine.

Children's Day
For the second time in our young shared lives, Kiyoaki and I celebrated Kodomo no Hi, the Japanese holiday honoring children. In comparison with last year's, this time we reached new heights of cultural inaccuracy, poor decorations and lousy picture quality. Also - please kindly ignore the fact that I'm writing this with a twenty-day delay.

Of carps and duties
I read in this delightful child-oriented page about Japanese culture that the week around the end of April and the beginning of May is called the Golden Week, because there are several holiday days and many people take a whole week off.
